THE RANGE OF YOUR ELECTRIC VEHICLE

The range can slow you down when buying your electric vehicle. Users want the manufacturer’s range values to represent their actual use as closely as possible. Factors impacting RANGE, charging, driving tips – we provide you with all the useful and necessary information to guarantee you a serene and pleasant experience on board your Peugeot electric car.

FACTORS IMPACTING YOUR VEHICLE’S RANGE

In addition to the degree of battery charge, various factors affect your electric vehicle’s range .

Speed

At 130 km/h, the range of a 100% electric vehicle is halved compared to the WLTP-approved range.

Heating

The heat released by the combustion engine is reused to heat the vehicle’s interior. An electric motor heats just a little, which is not sufficient for the vehicle’s interior. An additional specific electric heater is therefore necessary.

Weather

Regardless of heating or air conditioning, the outside temperature directly affects your vehicle’s range. At 0° degrees, this is reduced by 10%.

TOPOGRAPHY

When ascending, consumption increases and impacts your range. But when descending, regenerative braking lets you recover energy.

Other factors that may impact the range

DRIVING STYLE
Smooth, eco-responsible driving lets you optimise your range.
TYRE PRESSURE
It is important to check your tyre pressures at least once a month. Check the maximum allowable pressure shown on the side of the tyre because if your tyres are under-inflated, there will be greater tyre resistance, resulting in higher energy consumption.
FOR USE BY AUXILIARY CONSUMERS
Heating and air conditioning can affect 10 to 30% of your battery consumption. On the other hand, the other comfort-elements (radio, lights, windscreen wipers, etc.) have very little impact.
LOAD CARRIED
Driving with a roof-load or an open window increases wind resistance and therefore consumption. A high loading weight will also affect the range.

ADVICE ON OPTIMISING THE RANGE

POWER INDICATOR
Your energy consumption is indicated in real time  on your dashboard to better manage your vehicle’s range.
ECO-DRIVE MODE
The eco drive mode allows you to make the most of your car’s range. Save energy by reducing engine power and heating.
REGENERATIVE BRAKING
When you release the accelerator while driving, the electric motor acts as a generator, slowing the vehicle and recovering energy to transmit it to the battery. Brake mode is activated by pushing backwards on the gearbox control lever.
REMOTE COMMANDS
With your smartphone, set the pre-heating of your passenger compartment for your comfort. This function also allows you to preserve your battery-range if the vehicle is being charged. You can also check your vehicle’s range, charge the battery remotely whenever you wish and monitor its progress.

CHARGING

Make the most of your electric vehicle’s range (340 km WLTP for the  new Peugeot e-208 and up to 42 km WLTP for  the 3008 HYBRID4 in 100% electric driving mode), using the numerous charging options available to you.

DISCOVER THE CHARGING POINTS NEAR YOU

PLUGSURFING provides the list of charging points: only points compatible

with the vehicle in question are indicated. Access to the charging points may be subject to conditions

to be consulted beforehand (paid access with subscription, free access, etc.).
